WHAT IS RESVERATROL? (simple)
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic antioxidant found in red wine, the skin of red grapes,
certain berries, and peanuts. Resveratrol has several beneficial properties, such as promoting bone health, supporting weight loss, supporting heart health, and potentially enhancing longevity. Ezra Healing’s Resveratrol capsules are standardized to contain at least 98% trans-resveratrol and are derived from Polygonum cuspidatum, also known as Japanese Knotweed. Resveratrol has two isomers: cis-resveratrol and
trans-resveratrol. Of the two, trans-resveratrol exhibits greater bioactivity.
QUERCETIN AND RESVERATROL Synergy:
Quercetin and resveratrol are both polyphenols with anti-inflammatory properties. Combining these two antioxidants enhances their combined anti-inflammatory potential.
DETAILS on RESVERATROL (extended):
Resveratrol is a plant phytochemical (flavonoid) that has remarkable biological properties. Most importantly it activates autophagy. In addition, resveratrol has anti-inflammatory, antiviral (including SARS-CoV-2), antioxidant, and anticoagulant properties and has beneficial effects on the microbiome. Resveratrol also binds to spike protein helping to promote autophagy. Interestingly, Quercetin, a plant flavonoid with many of the biological properties of resveratrol, acts synergistically with resveratrol and remarkably increases the bioavailability of resveratrol.
Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant that protects against oxidative stress. It also has neuroprotective properties that may support cognitive health. It’s anti-inflammatory properties may protect brain cells as well.
Resveratrol may protect against some health issues related to aging (i.e., supporting bone health, preserving muscle mass, and protecting cognitive functions). As a result, resveratrol may improve the relative quality of health over an individual’s lifetime rather than the duration of it.
Resveratrol supplements may support heart health through several mechanisms. Resveratrol helps to preserve the agents responsible for vasorelaxation, such as acetylcholine and nitric oxide. It also exerts cardioprotective properties by scavenging free radicals and reducing vascular oxidative stress. Resveratrol may benefit
heart health by supporting weight loss and reducing inflammatory markers.
Resveratrol’s anti-inflammatory properties may support healthy joints by protecting them from damage. It also has the potential to prevent cartilage from breaking down, which is a significant source of joint pain.
