Description

WHAT IS QUERCETIN? (simple)
Quercetin is a bioflavonoid and a natural pigment found in numerous foods. Quercetin’s unique properties allow it to interact synergistically with other bioflavonoids particularly Resveratrol, and it may improve the absorption of other supplements as well. Quercetin is an effective antioxidant, and it scavenges free radicals. Quercetin also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps support the immune system.

QUERCETIN AND RESVERATROL Synergy:
Quercetin and resveratrol are both polyphenols with anti-inflammatory properties.
Combining these two antioxidants enhances their combined anti-inflammatory potential.

DETAILS on QUERCETIN (extended):
Quercetin is a polyphenol, which is a derivative of plants, and has strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and antiviral properties, and it is characterized by a very high safety profile, exerted in animals and in humans. The substance has also been shown to aid in the attenuation of lipid peroxidation, platelet aggregation, and capillary permeability.

Quercetin has significant anti-diabetic effects and may be helpful in lowering blood sugar and increasing insulin sensitivity. Quercetin stimulates cellular glucose uptake and decreases hyperglycemia. It regulates key signaling pathways involved in glucose metabolism. Reduces oxidative stress and improves insulin resistance. Quercetin and zinc working together may help strengthen immune function. Quercetin may act as a zinc-ionophore, which increases concentrations of zinc. Ionophores bind to ions and transport those ions across cell membranes. Ionophores often have antibacterial properties. Zinc plays a significant role in the immune system. Zinc deficiency reduces antibody production, which makes the body more susceptible to infections. However, it’s difficult for zinc to distribute throughout cells. Quercetin acts as a zinc transport mechanism to increase cellular zinc concentrations.
